ROUTINE MAINTENANCE JOBS LIST

 IMMEDIATE WORK REQUIRED

27 Aug 26 The immediate work required is:
1. Keep pond topped-up.
2. TLC for the new hedge on south side (see diagram above), particularly removing bind-weed etc. When removing bindweed growing up (strangling) new hedge plants take care not to pull it off too vigorously because it is so tough you may actually damage/up-root the hedge plant you are trying to de-weed. It is better to find the stem of the bindweed and cut the bindweed at ground-level. Then un-thread it gently from the hedge plant.
3. Train wild blackberry bush on west fence so that it becomes about 2’ deep and extends the length of the west fence. Prune away growth not useful to the desired shape, preserve and train growth spreading left and right along the fence.
4. Weed and sweep the brick path.
5. General weeding.
6. Keep grass inside the pathway short.

FUTURE WORK PLANNED

27 Aug 26 Current negotiations with Estate Manager suggest we may be able to get started on log-and-chip path quite soon.
03 Sep 26 Future work planned:
1. Replace the mown path with log-and-chip construction (see photo of this type of path below).
