Waste Collection and Recycling
Kerbside collection is weekly for Food Waste, and alternate Thursdays for Household Waste and Recycling. Please check the SODC website for changes to dates following bank holidays and what items can/cannot be placed in the waste bins. Garden Waste - this is collected fortnightly on the same day as household recycling waste and the bins can be hired from SODC for an annual fee - check their website for more information.
Medical
The nearest GP Surgery is based at Wallingford Medical Practice, Community Hospital, Reading Road, Wallingford. http://www.wallingfordmedicalpractice.co.uk / 01491 835577 (during surgery hours, or 111 outside surgery hours)
Minor Injuries can be treated at Wallingford Community Hospital Mon-Fri 08.30 - 18.30 (excl Bank Hols). You can also go to the Minor Injuries Unit at Henley-on-Thames or Abingdon Community Hospitals. Major Injuries should be taken to the John Radcliff Hospital in Oxford, or The Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.
Defibrillators are located at: Cholsey Pavilion / Tesco (Forty) / Cricket Pavilion (Fair Mile) / Papist Way phone box (by Weedon Close).

Transport
Rail: Cholsey Rail Station has regular services to London Paddington (via Reading) and Oxford. For faster, direct services to London you can go from Didcot Parkway or Reading. The ticket office is manned on a part-time basis and tickets can also be purchased from the machine outside the station. There is no disabled access to the platforms (via stairs)
Heritage Steam Railway runs from Cholsey to Wallingford using the preserved ‘bunk line’ operated by the Cholsey & Wallingford Railway. They run special services throughout the year www.cholsey-wallingford-railway.com
Bus: Regular bus services run through Cholsey to RAF Benson (via Wallingford). See https://www.thames-travel.co.uk

Day Centre, The Old School, Mary Mead, Church Road: A Day centre for our over 50’s providing social stimulation, activities, lunch and refreshments every Monday/Wednesday and Friday 10.00am - 4.00pm. See our clubs and societies section for more information.
Community Car Service: A part-time voluntary service available to help elderly residents with transport difficulties to GP/Hospital appointments, shopping etc.

COPA (Cholsey’s Older Persons Activities, Advice and Befriending Service): a service working closely with the Day Centre and Cholsey’s Older Persons Worker to support older members of our community.
